EARTH, WIND AND FIRE

by Alberto Segre

documentary (Italy; 2022; 17′)

Synopsis

On May the 3rd, 1979, Margaret Thatcher becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom: it is the beginning of a decade of bitter liberal politics that advocates the minimization of the role of the State and the progressive privatization of the entire British economy.

Earth, Wind and Fire tells the social impact of this policy through the great sporting career of the rugby league team of a small village in the Yorkshire mining area, the Featherstone Rovers.
